Our Story
Soon after David York and Andrew Howell started their estate planning law firm they noticed a glaring disconnect between what mattered most to their clients’ and how their clients were managing their wealth.
Families were preparing wealth for their children, but were not preparing their children to have wealth.
They knew how to gain wealth, but not how to be wealthy.
When David and Andrew looked at the families that were successful at growing and transferring their wealth, they noticed some consistent trends.
They knew who they were
They knew what they valued
They knew what they believed
Together David and Andrew wrote a book titled Entrusted to explore this deeper dimension of wealth. Soon after, David was tapped to give a TEDx talk to show the value of developing and passing on “family capital” – a collection of shared values, beliefs, experiences, and lessons – in addition to financial capital.
From there, they developed and refined a powerful process to help families:
- Clearly define their individual and shared values
- Measure their culture
- Develop purpose and connection, and
- Identify their priorities and goals.
After many iterations and formats, this process evolved into COREnology™ – A new company with a behavior finance software that helps trusted advisors quickly develop a deep and powerful connection with their clients, and create a wealth strategy that goes far beyond the growth and protection of assets.
The results were profound. Families repaired relationships, discovered their “why,” and reported that the process not only strengthened their wealth planning but also transformed how they communicated, trusted, and worked together.
And that’s when we realized –
this doesn’t just belong in the world of wealth management.
Organizations face the same challenges: people working side by side without a clear, shared understanding of purpose, values, or culture. In a world where employee engagement and retention are critical to success, we knew our tools could do for companies what they had done for families—build trust, improve collaboration, and create lasting connection.
Today, COREnology works with both Financial Institutions and Corporations to help people truly know themselves, align around what matters most, and use that clarity to create extraordinary results—at home, at work, and for generations to come.
As Aristotle said, “Knowing yourself is the beginning of wisdom.” COREnology helps people be wise—and use that wisdom to change lives.
