Module 2 – Lesson 1

In this lesson you’ll learn:

    • What core values are
    • How understanding your team’s core values will make you a stronger leader
    • Why core values are important to your team

What are core values?

Core values are those values you hold most deeply. They often originate from the most meaningful experiences in your life.

These values drive what you do, guide your decision-making, and help you create long-lasting connections with others.  Core values are worth striving for, even at a cost.

Articulating our core values and the origin stories behind them provides deeper connection and stronger understanding, which leads to more effective communication.

Understanding your team’s core values has a dual impact:

First, it strengthens the supervisor-employee relationship.

According to Victor Lipman in an article from Forbes,

Management Is 10% Work And 90% People. And it reminded me that one of the most fundamental but valuable things you can do as a manager is take time to get to know your people.

Second, it strengthens the relationships within the team.

When teams know what matters most to each member of the teams – and why – they can create stronger, more respectful working relationships.

Values clarification is a win for your teams and a win for your business.

Now, let’s learn how to use the most efficient and effective tool to accomplish this with your teams!
